Rodarmer is currently searching for an experienced Scientific Data Analyst to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This direct employment opportunity is full-time in the metro Washington DC area.

Position Requirements

  • Strong background in Data Analysis and Transformation
  • Background in Data Mining
  • Background in Data Analytics
  • Experience in Text Mining and Natural Language Processing
  • Skills and experience using  SQL Databases
  • Experience working with Compute Clusters
  • Scripting in Python and R
  • Understanding of Agile development
  • Knowledge of Data Modeling and manipulation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment
  • BS or higher in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implementation of Scientific Computing applications to enable communication between separate systems
  • Providing assistance in deploying applications in Compute Clusters
  • Supporting Text Mining and Natural Language Processing activities
  • Developing Data Analytics
  • Creating SAS, R and Python packages
  • Documentation and support
  • Employ problem-solving and multi-tasking skills to achieve project objectives within a team environment

Highly Desired

  • Knowledge of SAS (Statistical Analysis System)
  • Familiarity and experience with common tools and standards in Biotechnology
  • Familiarity with DNA, RNA and protein analysis tools and techniques
  • Familiarity with LIMs (Laboratory Information Systems)
  • Experience in data visualization
  • Comfortable in a Unix/Linux environment
  • Working knowledge of Perl scripting
  • A team player who is open to learning/exploring new skills
  • Prior NIH experience
